March 7, 2014, Posted In: Postgraduate, professional development, career development , Venue: 6581-2 (E2I training room)

A lot of PhD students get into the research program because being a faculty member is their career goal. However, not too many of them know how to prepare for such a career path, what it is like to get a faculty job, or how to sustain at the job. Therefore, E2I organized this discussion forum as part of the RPg professional development program to provide students the opportunity to interact with SENG faculty members as well as alumni who are working as faculty members in other universities and can give students the first-hand tips on this career path. E2I’s Director and Associate Director, Prof. Neil Mickleborough and Prof. Ben Chan joined the discussion panel with the following SENG faculty and alumni.

  • Prof. Christopher Chao, Associate Dean of Engineering, HKUST
  • Prof. Henry Lam, Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, HKUST
  • Prof. Haihui Ruan, Mechanical Engineering, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University
  • Prof. W. Y. Szeto, Civil Engineering, The University of Hong Kong
  • Prof. Ryan Yan, Civil Engineering, The University of Hong Kong
  • Prof. Angela Zhang, Information Engineering, The Chinese University of Hong Kong
