A group of students from different universities of Mainland China and India visited the School of Engineering in the week of July 14, 2015. As part of the one-week program, E2I offered a one-day program called Smarter Campus, adapted from IBM’s Smarter Cities. Smarter Campus aimed at exposing the campus life to these students and encouraging them to propose a development plan for a smarter campus based on the existing infrastructure. To get more knowledge of the University infrastructure and campus service, the students interviewed the UST members they ran into on campus and used half a day to develop their own proposal. At the presentation session in the afternoon, the four teams made interesting suggestions on how to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the campus service by integrating innovative technology into the current infrastructure. This one-day program ended with the Amazing Race during which the students went to the University landmarks before hitting the finish line on the beach.
